Big ideas, real impact.

What is Peterson Learning Center?

Peterson Learning Center is an accredited microschool and approved Category III private school designed to provide a more personalized, engaging, and effective education experience for every learner.

We are also a BBB-verified program, giving families confidence that they are choosing a trusted and reputable educational environment.

What does this mean for your family?

Because of our accreditation and Category III private school status, we are able to:

  • Accept multiple funding options

  • Provide families with flexibility in how they access education

  • Offer a legitimate, recognized educational pathway from early learning through high school graduation

This allows more families to access a high-quality, personalized education without being limited to a single system.

What is a microschool?

A microschool is a small, relationship-driven learning environment where:

  • Class sizes are intentionally small (around 8 learners per teacher)

  • Instruction is personalized and mastery-based

  • Learning is hands-on, engaging, and meaningful

At Peterson Learning Center, this means your child is not just another number — they are known, supported, and challenged every day.

Our Philosophy: A Team Around Every Leader

We believe the best education happens when families and educators work together.

That’s why we intentionally create a model where:

  • Parents are welcomed into the learning process

  • Communication is consistent and meaningful

  • Learning can extend beyond the classroom into the home and community

Whether you want to be highly involved or prefer us to fully lead academics, you are always part of your child’s team.

Why We Call Our Students “Leaders”

At Peterson Learning Center, we don’t just educate students — we develop leaders.

We use the term “Leader” because we believe every child should:

  • Take ownership of their learning

  • Build confidence and independence

  • Learn to think critically and solve real-world problems

  • Understand that their voice, ideas, and actions matter

This mindset shift helps children see themselves as capable, responsible, and prepared for life — not just school.

The Peterson Learning Center Difference

We combine the best of homeschool flexibility and private school structure to create something truly different:

  • Small group, personalized instruction

  • Licensed educators guiding each learner

  • Hands-on, real-world learning experiences

  • A focus on mastery — not memorization

  • A supportive community built around each child

More Than a School — A Better Way to Learn

Peterson Learning Center is where education becomes an experience — not just something to get through.

We exist to ensure every learner is:

  • Seen

  • Supported

  • Challenged

  • And inspired to grow

Our Belief About Learning

At Peterson Learning Center, we believe that new does not always mean better.

In a world that is rapidly shifting toward screens, constant testing, and rigid systems, we choose a different path — one that puts children first.

We believe:

  • Children should spend time outside, exploring, moving, and experiencing the world around them

  • Learning should be active and engaging, not sitting behind a desk all day preparing for a test

  • Kids should be physically involved in their day, not confined to a chair and a screen

  • Education should include real-life skills alongside strong academics, preparing learners for life — not just exams

We are intentional about reducing unnecessary screen time and test pressure because we know that true learning happens through doing, experiencing, and connecting.

Most importantly, we believe that families should have the ability to choose what is best for their child — not be limited to a one-size-fits-all system.

At Peterson Learning Center, we are committed to creating an environment where children can:

  • Grow academically

  • Develop life skills

  • Stay active and engaged

  • And enjoy learning again

Because education should build a life — not just prepare for a test.
